ABOUT OUR FOUNDER

Aiysha Johnson-Burks

Aiysha Johnson-Burks has a giving spirit, and it shows in everything she sets out to accomplish and with the people she meets. Since 2009, she’s mastered what it means to be a caregiver to others, not only becoming a mother, but elevating her educational landscape by receiving her master’s in human services, Education, and minors in Non-Profit Management and Family & Community Services & Culturally Responsive Education. During that same time, she became trained and certified in Safe Sleep Practices for Caregivers: Reduce the Risk of SUID and Medication in Childcare: Ensuring Child Safety.

When Johnson-Burks took her first sitter job for a family with a special needs child, they told her she was unique and a lifesaver. They had never met anyone who was a trained special need sitter versus just a babysitter. They explained, no one else in the Mississippi area offered in-home sitter services for special needs individuals or was qualified to assist with certain medications and procedures. It was at that point she knew other families might need these unique services.

Her heart exploded with compassion, and she then knew what she called to do. She continued to attend trainings regarding disabilities and realized that she too could make a difference in another way.
